Stage 3 Draft

I'm not sure what to put in the left column, so any help would be appreciated.

  1. Hi Aaron, good start in provided a list of your learning events. I would suggest in the Pre-Assessments to include some kind of written quiz or short assessment to get idea of students’ prior knowledge. This would be a great way to lead discussion to your oral assessment. Just an idea… On the left side of the column, is similar to stage 2 with determining T-Transfer, A-Acquisition and M-Meaning. Hope that helps…

  2. Hi Aaron, great work. I do agree with Mirasol. I suggest to include some formative assessments in the Pre-Assessment section. On the left side of the column, you need to write the goal types for each learning event. I recommend to see page 106 from our textbook. Use the action verb to help you identify each goal.

  3. I also like page 105 for coding in the left column. Are these all of the learning events for your unit? I agree with Myrna about adding something more specific to your pre-assessment.

  4. Take a look at mine (as you already suggested you would) if you'd like because I thought this part would be harder than it actually was once I understood it better.

The ideas you put forth in the Learning Events section are good but I think they are too vague. More specificity as to the activity you plan to do on each might be better. I am not sure that I get this all perfectly but that's at least how I understand what to do here. Don't forget to use the WHERETO from figure A.2 "UbD in a Nutshell". as well. In fact, I think you are missing the "Hook" for sure in this.

In the pre-assessment section you could spice this part up easily with technology. I suggest checking out GetKahoot.com for this as you can easily create fun and engaging quizzes that you can save data from.

Lastly, you might want to edit out the blank section at the bottom if you are not going to use it as well. Just use the "Forms" and "Edit Text" sections on the right in Acrobat Pro to do this. It's not too hard.
